These one of a kind earrings are handmade using reclaimed sea glass and natural beads from an invasive species Job's tears (Coix lacryma-jobi), sustainably gathered and transformed into wearable art, every pair helps reduce the spread of invasive plants while creating something truly beautiful and unique.
One of Hawaiʻi's most resilient and beloved native plants, the Aʻaliʻi (Dodonaea viscosa) has long been valued for its strength, adaptability, and beauty. Found across the islands, this remarkable shrub thrives in harsh conditions, helping stabilize soils, support native ecosystems, and provide habitat for local wildlife. Its distinctive papery seed capsules shift through shades of green, yellow, pink, and red, bringing color and life to Hawaiʻi's landscapes.
This collection celebrates the beauty of Aʻaliʻi by preserving its naturally fallen seeds in resin, allowing their intricate forms to be admired long after they have completed their role in nature. Each piece features real pressed flower petals that are carefully foraged and preserved before being cast in resin. Like our Seed & Shell Collection, these designs are guided by what nature provides, meaning styles and colors may change as different flowers become available.
The current pieces feature rose petals and bougainvillea, capturing their natural color and form in a way that allows their beauty to be worn and cherished.
